With our emphasis on small class sizes, high standards, language-rich learning, child safeguarding, and supportive early childhood education, we are looking for caregivers who share our commitment to helping young children learn, play, grow, and thrive.

Available Positions

1. Female French-Speaking Caregiver

We are looking for a female caregiver who is able to communicate and teach effectively in French.

French will be used as the main medium of instruction for the learners assigned to this caregiver.

The successful applicant should be confident communicating with young children in French and capable of creating an engaging, welcoming, and age-appropriate learning environment.

2. Male or Female Caregiver – English and Kinyarwanda

We are also recruiting a male or female caregiver who can work effectively with young children using English and Kinyarwanda.

The successful candidate should be able to communicate clearly with learners, colleagues, and parents or guardians while creating positive learning and play experiences for children.

Minimum Academic Qualification

Applicants should have:

A2 / Senior Six (S6) or an equivalent qualification in Education, preferably Early Childhood Development (ECD).

Candidates with additional relevant training and practical experience in early childhood education will have an added advantage.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

Applicants for the caregiver positions are expected to demonstrate the following:

1. ECD Training or Certificate

Applicants should have undertaken Early Childhood Development training or possess a relevant ECD certificate or equivalent professional training.

2. Experience Working With Young Children

Previous experience caring for, teaching, supporting, or working directly with young children is important.

Candidates should understand that early childhood education requires patience, attentiveness, creativity, responsibility, and an ability to respond appropriately to children’s individual developmental needs.

3. Good Communication Skills

Applicants must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.

Caregivers will be expected to communicate effectively with children, fellow staff members, parents or guardians, and the management of the Centre.

For the French-medium position, strong communication ability in French is particularly important.

For the English and Kinyarwanda position, candidates should be able to communicate effectively in English and Kinyarwanda.

4. References

Applicants should be able to provide reliable professional or personal references who can confirm their experience, conduct, character, or suitability for working with young children.

5. Commitment to Child Safeguarding

Commitment to child safeguarding is essential.

Every member of our team is expected to respect children’s rights, dignity, safety, and wellbeing. Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate professional behaviour around children and a strong commitment to creating a safe and protective learning environment.
