Students will explore practical tools for carpentry and masonry, learn the fundamentals of computer programming and research, and investigate natural phenomena like light, electricity, and the human digestive system. The content aligns with the Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB) Competence-Based Curriculum.

This course includes

Unit 1: Carpentry Tools Learn the names and uses of tools for working with wood, like saws and hammers, and how to use them safely.

Unit 2: Masonry Tools Discover the tools used for building with stone and brick, such as trowels and spirit levels

Unit 3: Light Explore how light travels in straight lines, how mirrors work (reflection), and how light bends through water (refraction)

Unit 4: Computer Memories and Storages Understand where computers keep information, including internal memory (RAM) and external storage like flash disks.

Unit 5: Writing Skills Practice using computer programs (like Word) to create tables, add columns, and insert pictures into documents.

Unit 6: Computer Research Learn how to use the internet safely to find information, use search engines, and access online learning tools.

Unit 7: Programming for Children Start coding using simple tools like Turtle Art to draw shapes and Scratch to make cartoons and music.

Unit 8: Water Pollution Study why water is important, what makes it dirty (pollution), and how to protect water sources

Unit 9: Soil and Cultivation Learn how to prepare the ground for planting crops and the correct way to use fertilizers

Unit 10: Plants and Environment Identify different crops and trees, understand why forests are important, and learn how to stop deforestation

Unit 11: Human Digestive System Find out what happens to food inside your body, from chewing to absorbing nutrients, and how to eat a balanced diet

Unit 12: Human Diseases Understand the difference between infectious (catchable) and non-infectious diseases, and how to prevent getting sick

Unit 13: Electricity Learn how electricity is made, how to build a simple circuit with a battery and bulb, and how to stay safe around power

Unit 14: Materials and State of Matters Classify materials (like metals vs. non-metals) and explore the three states of matter: solids, liquids, and gases
